This design originated from small ink and watercolor images I did on matt board. This project was done in two chunks, staring with the upper arm section and was the client’s first tattoo as I recall. We were using organic abstract shapes and textures with a limited color palette so that the majority of the work is very subtle as it traverses the length of the arm. The lower portion was initially based on a second set of abstract drawings, but also included some freehand work as we saw the piece evolve.
I have had the pleasure of seeing this strong lady and her tattoo in action at the rock climbing gym. (Pre Covid times) and it’s so satisfying and happy to know the human that is wearing my art feels more at home in their body because of it!
Our process together was very fluid and we created a bubble of positivity that shows in this work.
